MARINE CORPS STREAMER LISTING

All Marine Corps streamers are 2 3/4 x 36 inches, are double sided, and where embroidered devices are required they must be embroidered on both sides.  Each streamer represents an award.  In some cases an award is actually more than one streamer.  In addition, any single device, such as a single silver star, actually turns out to be two, since they must be embroidered on both the front and back of the streamer.  In actual practice Marine Corps streamers are two streamers sewn back to back.  Because of the complexity of the streamer and the unique way in which Marine Corps streamers are defined they are the MOST EXPENSIVE streamers made.

39. Armed Forces Expeditionary Streamer with five silver and one bronze star

In the above example this streamer actually has 12 stars embroidered on it - 5 silver and 1 bronze on the "front" and 5 silver and 1 bronze on the back
